The Chaser's "YES WE CANberra!"
I worked with 3D artist Mick Watson to create this new brand for The Chaser's 2010 election special.
The fantastic them music was produced by the team at Turning Studios
“Yes We Canberra!” debuted on Australian TV screens this week, bringing back the notorious Chaser team to ABC1. Over the next five weeks the show will satirically cover the Australian 2010 Federal Election, under the guise of being a warm-up act for the flagship late night current affairs program Lateline.
Designer Patrick Clair and 3D Artist Mick Watson worked to create an entirely new look and feel for the project that could combine the Lateline world with a variation on the infamous Obama “Yes We Can” brand. Recent events have shown that our politicians are entirely obsessed with polling data, so it would make sense that their very own city would actually be built from the stuff.
“Yes We Canberra!” is produced by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Polar Productions.
Infographic_ Google :: trying not to be evil
Elmo Keep wrote this fantastic exploration of Google's many facets. I designed the visuals to play with their distinctive brand colours (with a bit of Star Wars iconography thrown in for good measure).
It's been getting a few hits online - now well over a million and still counting...
Infographic Quotes_Stuff Said This Week
Every episode of ABC program HungryBeast featured a segment called "Stuff Said This Week". My graphics team would bring to life 3 quotes from the weeks news cycle as graphic collages.
This a selection of some of my favourite that I worked on during seasons 1 & 2.
Infographic News Blips_The Other News
Every episode of ABC program HungryBeast featured a segment called "The Other News". My graphics team would bring to life 3 bits of obscure news in each episode as bright, technicolor motion graphics bursts.
This a selection of some of my favourite that I worked on during seasons 1 & 2.
Infographic_Child Mortality verse Arms Sales Revenue Worldwide
ABC Australia program HungryBeast asked me to develop a format for a short segment that could turn maps and other infographic charts into animated interstitials.
This was the prototype we made for DataPlus.
It combines maps with datasets for:
-Child Mortality worldwide
-Arms Sales Revenue_Top 20 Nations
-Nuclear Weapons Stockpiles, estimated warheads by nation.
Infographic_DNA Test Results
Kirk Docker produced a story for HungryBeast about the experience of getting a genetic test of his future health problems.
We needed a clear, concise way to display his results within the segment.
AudioVisuals_Music Breakers for ABC Television
One thing I love doing is turning music into visuals. This is a selection of breakers we made for TV series HungryBeast to give the audience a little rest between segments.

I directed this TV commercial for Smirnoff to promote a series of events they were holding in Australia. It ran with supporting web content and direct marketing handled by MTV Networks Australia. Big props to VFX wizard Matthew Mackareth who collaborated on the piece.
MTV AUSTRALIA AWARDS 2008
I designed the graphics for this and produced the campaign from the MTV end. The very talented crew at Collider were responsible for the very cool live action component featuring the MTV helmet men.
This is the montage I cut to open the show.
